Young people are the heart of our church and indicate a vibrant, nurturing faith community! We love having children & youth of all ages join us for worship. We invite parents and children to take books, activities, and worship bulletins to enhance your worship experience, and we provide topical sheets for family spiritual practices to be used at home. You can find these items on the “Choose Your Own Adventure” carts found in the lobby and in the back of the Sanctuary.
Children from pre-kindergarten age through 5th grade are invited to attend Follow Me Time during our 10:30 a.m. service. Instructions for when children are dismissed can be found in our printed Sunday program.
Older youth, from 6th through 12th grades, are invited to First Light, which meets on Sunday evenings.
Sunday School

PreK-5th grade children are invited to join us for Follow Me Time during the 10:30 a.m. worship service, as we learn about God’s ways through Bible stories, discussions, games, and crafts. The Follow Me Time teacher will be waiting on the side to walk the children to the Education Wing. Parents may pick up their children at their classroom in the Education wing of First Presbyterian Church. All volunteers submit to background checks, attend child abuse prevention training, and follow the policies of First Presbyterian Church.
Infant & Toddler Childcare
First Presbyterian Church is a welcoming community and children are a gift to us! We have a private lounge for nursing mothers and childcare for infants, toddlers, and PreK children who are not ready for Follow Me Time. Childcare is provided during our 9:30 a.m. adult education groups, and our 10:30 a.m. worship service. We welcome the sounds and stirrings of children in worship. They are a gift!
First Light Youth Group

First Light Youth Group meets on Sunday nights from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. for students from 6th to 12th grade. Most meetings are held in the youth rooms at the end of the hall in the education wing of First Presbyterian Church. Occasionally, gatherings are held in alternate locations for outdoor activities.
