We are currently searching for our next permanent, fulltime pastor to lead our congregation into the future. The Pastoral Nominating Committee (PNC) has been working since early November 2023 on the documents that will help us find the right person for the job. Strategic Planning
In 2021, the congregation began a strategic planning project that included a survey of the members and non-members who regularly attend our services. Although the survey was held during the pandemic, the 148 responses reflected a broad spectrum of the congregation. Read the complete survey report.
Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
In 2023, some of the congregation participated in a book study centered around the book Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations by Robert Schnase. Members of the Session led different groups to accommodate the availability of the participants, and ideas were shared about how First Pres could improve, following the five practices. The notes were compiled and the Session voted at their November 2023 meeting on the top ideas in each practice to be shared with potential future pastoral candidates. Read the report.
